Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Chicago, Il.

How long have you been playing your instrument/running sound board/managing a band?

I've been playing guitar (of sorts) for 33 years. Played bass for about 4-5 years in a local Chi-town rock band.

Who were/are your musical influences?

Musical influences growing up included a range from Led Zepplin, ELP, Santana and AC/DC to the Grateful Dead and Neil Young. Kutlass and Third Day are among more recent influences.

What bands or cd’s are you listening to today?

Third Day is probably my favorite band in recent years. I listen mostly to Christian rock music including Kutlass, Switchfoot, Jeremy Camp, Newsboys and similar artists along with the occasional classic rock stuff that plays well with the volume up to eleven.

Other hobbies besides playing music?

I like golf and fishing although I don’t do either well or often. I also try to be an active spectator for whatever my kids are involved in.

What do you think is special about Zion’s Fire and their Music Ministry?

We set off to be a Christ centered ministry and have done our best to hold true to that. We are a diversely talented group that believes our talents are a blessing from God and have committed to using them to His glory. We are at our best when we manage to get out of the way and let God pull the lyrics and music out of us.
