Chris Taylor

Drums

Where did you grow up?

Dallas / Ft. Worth metroplex

How long have you been playing your instrument/running sound board/managing a band?

Got my first drumset at age 3 (thanks mom & dad!)

Who were/are your musical influences?

Doyle (Nick) Taylor, Mildred Taylor, Rick Cobb, Neil Peart (of course!), Stewart Copeland, Bill Bruford, Alex Van Halen, Steven Adler, Carter Beauford, Gil Moore, Nick Mason, David Carr, & Duncan Phillips.

What bands or cd’s are you listening to today?

Anything by Third Day, Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, Jars of Clay - I still listen to some of the classic rock stuff - Pink Floyd and even though they certainly are poor role models (kids, don't do this at home) I hate to say it, but G-n-R played some git-down-n-dirty rock and roll (just find a way to not hear the vocals eh?)

Other hobbies besides playing music?

Computers/Internet, I am a Fox News channel junkie, I love to watch Dallas' pro sports teams, especially the Cowboys and the Stars.

What do you think is special about Zion’s Fire and their Music Ministry?

First and foremost, the passion we all have to serve the Lord. After that, it is the individuals - their commitment, passion, talent, and love. We are a family. When God sees fit for everything to gel, 5 individuals become one cohesive unit that wants to rock for an audience of one. Know what i mean? There is one other thing that makes Zion's Fire what it is - the love and support of our families (wives, husband, kids) - without their acceptance and support we could never keep this going.
